During this evening, I was lucky to capture a funny video of Kermit. He never fails to make people laugh at his silly acts.
Lately I just bought Kermit a toy ball. I took nearly a week for him completely get use to it and not fear of it. This evening, I was lured by ear-splitting rings from the toy ball and I decided to take a look at what Kermit was messing about.
For a moment, he was lying on his back enjoying and playing with the ball. He did look like a seal juggling with a ball at that moment. Few minutes later, I saw him tossing madly and forcing the toy ball out of his territory.
So is that Love or Hate? Perhaps you shall be the judge.
As the flock leader of Bryan’s Angel, I’ve been busy lately on projects and busy training Kiki with new tricks. I was suppose to post a Youtube clip featuring Kiki during training of the new trick, but I couldn’t as my cameraman - my dearest brother was apparently unavailable. I do hope I will be able to share the clips to everyone real soon.
Anyway today, I caught Kiki doing something really fantastic. I left Kiki back to her cage for her dinner as 6.30pm as usual and I went for a shower. Soon after I was back from the shower and standing in front of the cage, Kiki started to hop down to the cage door and started her amazing attempt. She trying to lift open the cage door. I swear that no one has ever taught her on this, everything was self-taught by her own. I’m totally impressed, I immediately grabbed hold of my handy-cam and captured this brilliant moment.
Kiki in action…
Although her attempt to lift open the cage door and get out of the cage was unsuccessful, but I totally impressed! Really awesome. I’m sure soon she will figure out her way to open the cage door and make way out of the cage. Anything can be possible.
This really convinced me that my decision in securing those doors with cable ties when I’m out, was totally sensible. Kiki’s a really smart girl and she has undergone various tricks training, I’m sure with enough time she will be able to figure out her own way.
Kiki is back with her silly acts again. When me and mum was watching TV on the couch, we soon noticed that Kiki was missing. She was suppose on the armrest of the couch, but without a single sound she just vanished like a ninja. Soon mum noticed some movements underneath the couch cover at the other armchair. It’s totally amazing that Kiki burrowed underneath the cover simply like any pet rodents. Silly Kiki! *Haha*
Isn’t that fascinating? Although it’s really silly, but she amused everyone in the family. She never fails to make people laugh! Earlier on Mum worried that she won’t be able to come out by her own and stucked underneath the cover.
Too much of the worries. Kiki’s really smart that she’s able to find her own escape route out of the couch cover. Finally back outside with some cool fresh air!
Kiki’s back in action again. This time she recently picked up a new sport that I introduced to her, Basketball. She’s definitely doing well and understand the basic game rule and objective - which is to place ball through the ring. Till now she tend to miss a few shots, but I’m already impress with her performance. She still has lots of training to undergo to perfect her skills. With her talent and intelligence, I’m sure she’s able to make it to the PBA tournament (PBA aka Parrots Basketball Association). *Haha* Just Kidding.
She still attending the frequent Basketball training, hopefully by the next progress report she’s able to meet the perfect scoreline. Ganbatte Kiki! Don’t disappoint your readers and supporters!
Recently everyone in my family started to regard Kiki as the ultimate climber. I agree with that, the name really suits her alot. Kiki usually is free to roam and walk around the house as long under my family members supervision. But there’s definitely one part of the house, she loves to go and that’s my bedroom. She loves to come into my bedroom and climb up to the lack wall-selving through extension cables. I guess she regards the cables as her makeshift playground.
Kiki in action…
Please don’t get your parrot to try this at home. Kiki did this within my supervision, I ensure all the power outlets are off and if she happen to nip on the cables, I will remove her immediately. This is to prevent from resulting any fatal injuries or damages. Safety comes first!
Kiki recently just seems to be annoyed when seeing any object that is purple. Whenever she gets her target lock-on, she will fluff up and act aggressive against it. She fights till the end!
I just happen to get my brother to capture Kiki having a “Fencing” Game with me. Indeed, she gets her target lock-on on this PURPLE pen. You know what, she’s those type with NEVER SAY DIE mentality. See how she’s motivated to fight to the end. My family finds it amusing.
The Fencing Game: Bryan Vs. Kiki
3 Cheers to our NEVER SAY DIE warrior, Kiki.
Hip Hip Hip Hooray!
Lately, Kiki has been very acrobatic and hyperactive, she’s into climbing I guess. I have seen her climbing up to my work desk through the extension cord from the ground. The extension cord acts as a ladder, a bridge to my work desk. I didn’t hesitate to teach her the Somersault Trick after she’s performed so many stunts around the house. It’s a fairly simple trick which Kiki learnt it within a day. I never ever doubt about Kiki’s capabilities in learning new tricks.
Kiki performing the trick…
How do I teach?
First a perch is require. Since Kiki has tiny feet I have to find a small perch suitable for her to perform trick on top of it. I have to ensure that Kiki is possible have full grip whole of the perch. I use a pen instead, I think is ideal and it does save cost too.
To get things started, I place Kiki on the perch. The other hand holding off the treat below her foot level. This force her to lean forward and left handing upside down like a bat. Next, I bring the treat back on top of the perch and this force to climb back to the perch to recover herself. When she did this, I praised her and gave her the treat. I repeated this cycle a couple of times until she can comfortably complete the cycle herself without the step by step coaxing her.
Soon she confident in doing the trick, I slowly enhance a recognizable hand cue and voice cue. Upon the hand cue and voice cue, when she able to perform the trick, I praised and treated her accordingly.
This morning when I woke up, I checked out the cage lining. I can see quite a number of non-moving red dots. I think the mite spray is taking effect. I guess I just have to repeat the process a couple of times.
During the afternoon Kiki helped herself at teabreak with her Sluis Seed Mix. She loves the dried fruits, raisins in the mix. I went pouring her some fresh water for her. In the end she dunked herself into the fresh water happily bathing and playing the water. So happy to see her doing this again. *Smile*
See how wet the surrounding. Oh mind. That’s my Kiki.
Have to end up wiping the table dry myself. *Mad* *Haha*
