Hellooooo – Kiki’s Waving Hello Trick

I wasn’t working on project today, and have a whole day with Kiki. I decided to give me a try on teaching Kiki the waving trick. It sounds to be an easy trick, but I met some obstructions during the training session with Kiki. Days ago and even now, I’m still training Kiki to offer her right leg for the Hand-shaking trick. The progress is good, but with a major problem. Kiki tends to nip my cueing fingers first before performing the hand-shaking trick. I’m trying now to eliminate this negative action in the trick. This worries me alot when I teach Kiki the waving trick.

Kiki the Ultimate Climber

Recently everyone in my family started to regard Kiki as the ultimate climber. I agree with that, the name really suits her alot. Kiki usually is free to roam and walk around the house as long under my family members supervision. But there’s definitely one part of the house, she loves to go and that’s my bedroom. She loves to come into my bedroom and climb up to the lack wall-selving through extension cables. I guess she regards the cables as her makeshift playground.

Please don’t get your parrot to try this at home. Kiki did this within my supervision, I ensure all the power outlets are off and if she happen to nip on the cables, I will remove her immediately. This is to prevent from resulting any fatal injuries or damages. Safety comes first!

Kiki’s making a name in Japan

I hope Kiki continues to work hard, and continues to learn new trick and shares her performance to everyone around the globe.

Kiki’s Ring Tossing Trick

As what I have promise everyone earlier on on my previous posting to share the video posting on Kiki doing her Ring Tossing Trick. I personally think it’s quite a hard trick for Kiki. Throughout her learning path, she did vent her frustration on me. With patience and repeating and summarize the basic steps over and over again. Finally She masters and understands the whole concept within a week. I guess the crucial part is to build and select the right size of prop for them. The Ring is the important part in the game, have to light and small. Have to thank Mum for helping me source for the suitable plastic rings.

She’s into fencing recently

Kiki recently just seems to be annoyed when seeing any object that is purple. Whenever she gets her target lock-on, she will fluff up and act aggressive against it. She fights till the end!

I just happen to get my brother to capture Kiki having a “Fencing” Game with me. Indeed, she gets her target lock-on on this PURPLE pen. You know what, she’s those type with NEVER SAY DIE mentality. See how she’s motivated to fight to the end. My family finds it amusing.

Kiki’s Somersault Trick

Lately, Kiki has been very acrobatic and hyperactive, she’s into climbing I guess. I have seen her climbing up to my work desk through the extension cord from the ground. The extension cord acts as a ladder, a bridge to my work desk. I didn’t hesitate to teach her the Somersault Trick after she’s performed so many stunts around the house. It’s a fairly simple trick which Kiki learnt it within a day. I never ever doubt about Kiki’s capabilities in learning new tricks.

Kiki’s Coin Depositing Trick

Here’s the posting about Kiki’s new trick – Coin Depositing Trick. I promised on my earlier post to share about Kiki learning the new trick and also to upload the video clip to YouTube.

I’m indeed surprise that Kiki managed to learn this intermediate trick within a day. I’m really proud of her, she has never disappoint me. She’s attentive and learned everything, the move yesterday – 1st November 2007. The objective of the trick: She has to dump all the 3 coins into the black box. It isn’t difficult for her to master the Coin Depositing Trick, as she learned to perform the Fetching Trick earlier on. Basically I just have to teach her to place the objects into the black box.
